RASC News Agency: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) has recently announced that the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund has received a donation of 15 million Danish kroner from Denmark. This significant contribution, which is equivalent to $2.2 million, was officially acknowledged by OCHA on Thursday, January 25th. It is worth noting that Denmark has been consistently supporting Afghanistan, with a cumulative aid amount of 236.4 million kroner, equivalent to $36.4 million, provided since 2015.

The donation comes at a critical time when Afghanistan is grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis under the rule of the Taliban. With over 23 million people in need of urgent assistance, the situation is dire. The Taliban’s restrictions on women’s rights and the reduction in international aid have exacerbated poverty levels among families. Consequently, poverty and unemployment have driven a significant number of Afghanistani citizens to migrate to neighboring countries and beyond.

The challenges faced by Afghanistani citizens in neighboring countries and the region are critical. Many of them are subjected to forced deportation, adding to their already difficult circumstances. The international community must continue to support Afghanistan and its people during this challenging period, ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches those who need it the most. The donation from Denmark serves as a reminder of the importance of collective efforts to address the pressing needs of vulnerable populations.
