RASC News Agency: In the Oruzgan province, the Taliban recently announced the facilitation of a session involving a cohort of young individuals, focusing on “Social Media Service.” As conveyed in a newsletter disseminated on Saturday, January 13th, by the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture, discussions during this session revolved around the intrinsic value of rendering service on social media, accomplishments, and the foundational principles of effective communication.
Concurrently, the head of information and culture for the Taliban in Oruzgan expressed appreciation for the “struggle” exhibited by these young individuals in the “media battleground.” He underscored the imperative of safeguarding the system, emphasizing the prohibition of adversarial advertisements.
The ministry’s newsletter highlighted that “at the session’s inception, Qari Agha Wali Qureshi, the head of information and culture for the Taliban, acknowledged the commendable struggle of the youth. He accentuated the significance of the media battleground as a pivotal platform for intellectual discourse elevation, thwarting the detrimental impact of negative depictions of the Islamic system in the non-believing world.” As outlined in the Taliban group’s newsletter, during this session, Qureshi imparted “principles aimed at averting negative advertising against the Islamic system” to the participants and urged their adherence.
This development coincides with earlier reports signaling the formation of groups by senior Taliban officials to advocate for and commend the group’s authorities while launching attacks against their adversaries on social media. The primary arena for these activities is reported to be Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
