RASC News Agency: Reports from Badakhshan province reveal that members of the Taliban from Badakhshan, who had previously killed several Taliban from Kandahar in the province over drug trafficking, are now themselves victims of beheading. Sources from Badakhshan province informed the media on Wednesday, January 10th, that the bodies of these Badakhshan Taliban were discreetly laid to rest without heads after the beheading, including an individual named “Jumayi Dara Jaim” from the Keshm district in this province.

According to sources, no Badakhshan Taliban possesses any information about the whereabouts, whether alive or deceased, of Bakhtullah Yafatli, one of the commanders of this group of Tajik origin, and his associates. Additionally, sources continue to report the disappearance of Mohammad Sharif Af, known as Mehdi Arsalan, the commander of the group Jamiat Ansarullah, consisting of Tajikistani fighters based in Afghanistan.

Sources add that Mehdi Arsalan, approximately 30 years old, is considered a pivotal figure within his group, aligning with the longstanding allies of the Afghanistani Taliban. After the collapse of the Republic government, he assumed control of the districts of Nosay, Maymay, Kof Ab, Khawahan, and Shuki in Badakhshan province, bordering Tajikistan.

Furthermore, Tajikistan’s Radio Free Europe, citing sources among Tajikistan border forces, reports that news of Mehdi Arsalan’s disappearance has reached these forces along the Afghanistan border. According to information, Jama,at Ansarullah, with approximately 100 to 200 members, has been present in Badakhshan province, Afghanistan, as an ally of the Taliban for several years. Established in 2006 by Emomalii Tabarov, this group operates to establish an Islamic emirate similar to the Taliban but in Tajikistan.
