RASC News Agency: The Director General of Public Relations of Iran’s National Migration Organization, Mohammad Jalalifard, has provided updated information on the Kerman attacks. According to Jalalifard, as quoted in the IRNA report published on January 7th, a total of 14 Afghanistani citizens lost their lives in the terrorist attacks. Additionally, 19 individuals were injured, with six currently receiving treatment in the hospital, while the others have already been discharged.
Before this update, the Fars news agency had released a list containing the names of 12 deceased Afghanistani immigrants, including six women who lost their lives in the Kerman attacks. The explosions, which occurred on January 3rd during the fourth anniversary of Qasem Soleimani’s killing, resulted in the deaths of over 90 individuals and left numerous others injured. Reports suggest that two bombs were detonated, and it has been revealed that the attacks were carried out by suicide bombers affiliated with the Khorasan branch of ISIS.
In response to these devastating events, authorities have taken swift action. Kerman’s senior police chief, Mehdi Bakhshi, reported the arrest of 32 suspects so far, with ongoing investigation and interrogation. Additionally, Iranian intelligence agencies had previously announced the arrest of several suspects, and it was reported that 16 additional bombs were discovered following the attacks in Kerman. The authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and security of the region.
