RASC News Agency: The US Department of State has announced its intention to convene a session titled “Coalition Meeting for Afghanistani Women’s Economic Resilience.” Set to occur on Tuesday, Feb 27, the session will be hosted by the US Department of State in partnership with Boston University.
As per a press release from the US Department of State, the session will be overseen by the US Secretary of State. Described as a collaborative initiative between the US Department of State and Boston University, established in 2022 under Antony Blinken’s direction. One of the primary objectives of this session is to promote the access of Afghanistani women and girls to education, employment, and entrepreneurship amidst Taliban governance.
This development coincides with a collective declaration from representatives of eleven member nations of the United Nations Security Council, denouncing the persistent gender discrimination and systematic oppression faced by Afghanistani women and girls under Taliban rule. In their joint statement, the representatives of the eleven member nations of the United Nations Security Council have urged an end to the suppression of women and girls by the Taliban.
