RASC News Agency: The Sixth Security District of Kabul recently reported an explosion in a passenger bus carrying civilians in the Qala-e-Nazir Station area. However, just a few hours later, the ISIS group claimed responsibility for the incident. In a statement released by the Khorasan branch of ISIS on January 6th, they acknowledged their involvement in the explosion and stated that it resulted in the deaths of 20 individuals.
Meanwhile, the Taliban group provided contrasting information, stating that only two individuals lost their lives, and 14 others were injured. They further mentioned that the injured individuals were promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Khalid Zadran, the spokesperson for the security command of the Taliban group in Kabul, shared details about the incident on social media, specifying that it occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6th, in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of the 6th security district of Kabul.
It is worth noting that despite the Taliban’s claims of suppressing the ISIS group in Afghanistan and rendering them inactive, the latter has continued to carry out attacks against civilians, particularly targeting the Shia community. Two months ago, Dasht-e-Barchi in Kabul experienced another explosion in a sports hall, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuring 27 others. ISIS also claimed responsibility for that incident. Despite the Taliban spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, stating that there are only 80 ISIS forces in Afghanistan, the group has persisted in its operations, even resorting to beheading a worker in a previous incident.
