RASC News Agency: Reports from Kabul Province indicate that the Taliban group recently apprehended Ahmad Jawid, a former soldier expelled from Iran and now residing in Kabul city. Identified as a company commander under the previous government’s Ministry of Defense, Ahmad Jawid was arrested around eleven days ago in the 315 Khairkhana area of the province. Additionally, the Taliban group has also detained Ahmad Jawid’s brother, Parwiz, with no current information available regarding their fate.
Despite the Taliban group’s claims of adhering to the general amnesty declared by their leader, evidence suggests they persist in targeting and mistreating soldiers from the previous regime. Numerous instances of arrests, imprisonment, torture, and even killings have been reported since the group seized control of the country. In a notable incident, a former soldier repatriated from Iran was killed in the Dasht-e-Shor area of Mazar-e-Sharif, the center of Balkh province. It is crucial to note that the Taliban group operates without being held accountable by any institution for their violent actions.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the Taliban group has not only displayed vengeful behavior towards military personnel from the previous government but has also targeted, detained, tortured, and even killed non-Pashtun citizens, especially those residing in Panjshir province. These actions underscore the group’s disregard for the well-being and rights of individuals who do not align with their ideology.
