RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan Freedom Front has asserted responsibility for the recent explosion and gunfire incident in Mazar-e-Sharif, the epicenter of Balkh province. As per a statement disseminated on social media, the assault was executed by the forces of the Freedom Front on a Taliban outpost situated along Sayed Abad Avenue. This operation transpired on the night of Tuesday, December 26th, around 8:00 p.m.

The Freedom Front contends that the Taliban members stationed at the outpost were implicated in the oppression of local residents. However, the local officials of the Taliban group in Balkh province have yet to provide any commentary on the incident. Nevertheless, eyewitnesses in the vicinity have verified the explosion and gunfire.

It is noteworthy that there has been a surge in assaults by opposing factions against the Taliban group in recent periods. In a precedent occurrence, the Freedom Front declared an assault on a Taliban encampment in the Rokha district of Panjshir province. According to their assertion, two Taliban members succumbed, and two others sustained injuries as a consequence of the offensive. The factions in opposition to the Taliban group have clandestinely executed operations across various provinces of the nation, with their leaders pledging to persist in their endeavors until the termination of Taliban governance.

Since the Taliban assumed control of the nation, diverse opposition factions have initiated attacks on Taliban military installations and targeted their operatives. In retaliation, the Taliban has been apprehending civilians associated with these factions and incarcerating them.
