RASC News Agency: In the provinces of Kunar and Paktika, there are reports from local sources regarding the widespread distribution of a book titled “The Devil’s Legion.” This propagandistic piece, authored as an anti-ISIS narrative, has been disseminated by the Taliban to students in educational institutions across these regions. The information surfaced on Monday, December 25th, indicating that the book characterizes ISIS as “Khawarij and The Devil’s Legion,” with the Taliban planning to conduct a competition among students to encourage engagement with its content.
Al-Marsad Publications, a media outlet affiliated with the Taliban, is credited with publishing this book, reportedly distributed among students under the supervision of the Taliban’s information and culture leadership, according to sources. Residents of Asadabad, the capital of Kunar province, have corroborated reports that the Taliban distributed the book in all schools and educational centers throughout the city and its districts. Moreover, sources reveal that this book has extended its reach beyond schools and educational centers, infiltrating certain private and government universities in these two provinces, both in urban and rural areas.
Notably, despite the absence of significant concerns raised regarding the presence of the ISIS group in Paktika province, earlier reports spotlighted ISIS activities in Kunar province, a fact acknowledged by a Taliban official. This unfolding situation aligns with the continuous expressions of concern emanating from neighboring countries and the broader region concerning the presence and activities of terrorist groups, notably including ISIS, following the Taliban’s assumption of control in the country.
