RASC News Agency: Local sources in Ghazni province recently reported another mysterious murder, adding to the series of targeted assassinations and the fatalities of soldiers from the previous regime. According to media reports on Wednesday, December 20th, a soldier from the former government was discovered deceased under enigmatic circumstances on Monday, December 18th. The deceased soldier, identified as Baqer, had recently returned from a sojourn to Nawur district in Ghazni province. During the preceding government, Baqer held a position of responsibility as a security outpost in Mazar-e-Sharif, the hub of Balkh province.

Despite the escalating criminal activities, encompassing targeted assassinations and armed robberies, the Taliban group in Ghazni province has maintained a conspicuous silence concerning the murder of this former government soldier in Nawur district. It is noteworthy that since assuming control of the country, the Taliban has undertaken various actions against soldiers from the previous government, notwithstanding their leader’s proclamation of amnesty. These actions have frequently resulted in arrests, incarceration, torture, and, even, fatalities for the soldiers.

In the most recent incident, the Taliban forces terminated the life of a former government soldier who had recently returned from Iran in Mazar-e-Sharif, the central hub of Balkh province. It is disconcerting to observe that the Taliban group has not solely focused on targeting soldiers but has also escalated arbitrary detentions of Afghanistani citizens. The United Nations Assistance Missions in Afghanistan (UNAMA) underscored this issue in a recent report, illuminating the arbitrary actions of the Taliban and their repercussions on the security landscape of the nation.
