RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) under the Taliban’s administration has announced a meeting and discussion between Khalil ul-Rahman Haqqani, the Acting Minister of the Ministry, and Natalia Quintavalle, Italy’s Charge d’affaires for Afghanistan. Their conversation centered around the challenges faced by Afghanistani migrants. As per the statement released by the Taliban’s Ministry on Sunday, December 17th, on the X social media platform, both parties engaged in a comprehensive dialogue, exchanging perspectives on the issues encountered by Afghanistani refugees in Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey, particularly concerning their forced expulsion.
Despite repeated appeals from the international community to cease the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan, the country persists in this process, resulting in the daily return of thousands of Afghanistani refugees to their homeland. Earlier, Pakistani media reported that nearly 2,000 Afghanistani refugees were forcefully expelled from Pakistan and sent back to Afghanistan within a single day.
It is crucial to highlight that the United Nations, in a previous report, expressed concerns, stating that the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan poses significant risks, especially for women and girls who are often returned to Afghanistan without any resources or guardians.
Reports suggest that the Taliban’s misguided policies, involving providing shelter to Pakistani militants known as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), have contributed to the escalation of forced deportations of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan.
