RASC News Agency: According to reports, Turkish police have detained and expelled 11 Afghanistani asylum seekers for their involvement in gambling activities, as disclosed by the media on Tuesday, December 5th. These asylum seekers were identified and deported from the city of Karaman in Turkey. Local media has underscored that Turkish police arrested the Afghanistani asylum seekers on November 13 while participating in gambling. Furthermore, the police have closed down the premises where these individuals were engaged in such activities.
Additionally, reports indicate that Turkish police have confiscated a sum of $1,887 from the aforementioned location. It is crucial to note that under the Turkish criminal code, facilitating gambling is considered a crime and is subject to a fine. This is noteworthy, considering previous media reports of Afghanistani citizens being involved in criminal activities in other countries. The latest incident involved the murder of a 17-year-old Afghanistani girl by her Afghanistani fiancé in Iran, who inflicted 20 stab wounds.
It is worth emphasizing that the Pakistani government has consistently asserted that Afghanistani citizens residing in Pakistan are involved in terrorist attacks within the country. Furthermore, there has been an unprecedented increase in the forced deportation of Afghanistani asylum seekers from Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey. It is important to highlight that the surge in migration of Afghanistani citizens to neighboring countries such as Iran and Pakistan has occurred following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
