RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan recently made an announcement regarding a meeting between the country’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs and the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan affairs. Ismatullah Irgashev, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan, held talks with Tariq Ali Bakheet, the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The discussions primarily focused on the current situation in Afghanistan, particularly the humanitarian and economic crisis under the control of the Taliban group.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of unity, consensus, and cooperation in addressing the humanitarian and economic crisis in Afghanistan. They expressed their commitment to approaching this issue constructively. Additionally, the representatives discussed and exchanged opinions on various matters mentioned in the resolutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation concerning Afghanistan.
It is worth noting that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has consistently stated that the restrictions on women’s education and employment contradict the teachings of Islam. The organization has called for the abolition of these prohibitions. Reports indicate that countries in the region, as well as international organizations, have engaged in numerous discussions regarding the current situation in Afghanistan under Taliban control. The President of Uzbekistan, during the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) meeting in Baku, emphasized the vital role Afghanistan plays in regional stability, urging the world not to overlook the country’s significance.
