RASC News Agency: Following the detentions of Afghanistani women protesters by the Taliban, a coalition of Afghanistani women’s rights activists recently stated that the silence of international organizations regarding the Taliban’s actions against Afghanistani women signifies the world’s support for this group. According to a statement issued by the coalition of Afghanistani women’s rights activists on Thursday, November 16, they expressed their frustration regarding the fate of their colleagues held in Taliban prisons and raised concerns about the prolonged imprisonment of Neda Parwani, Julia Parsi, and Manizha Sediqi, three women human rights activists.
The Independent Coalition of Afghanistani Women’s Protest Movements criticized the silence of international organizations and added that the world’s silence in the face of the Taliban’s actions demonstrates indirect support for this group. It should be noted that currently, Neda Parwani, a member of the “Self-Driven Women’s Movement,” along with her husband and child, Julia Parsi, and also Manizha Sediqi, two other members of Afghanistani women’s protest movements, were recently detained by the Taliban in Kabul province.
It is worth mentioning that the Taliban authorities have not provided any explanation regarding the motives behind the arrests and imprisonment of these women human rights activists or their release. Furthermore, it is important to highlight that the Taliban, disregarding the pleas from women’s civil movements for the freedom of these three active women and Perisa Azadah, another protesting woman, detained her in Dasht-e-Barchi, in western Kabul on Thursday.
Meanwhile, this coalition demands immediate and unconditional actions from active bodies in the field of women’s rights, the United Nations, and other global human rights organizations, in order to secure the immediate release of all political prisoners, especially women who are members of Afghanistan protest movements, from Taliban prisons.
