RASC News Agency: With the increasing rate of criminal activities in various provinces of the country, the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior of the Taliban group recently announced the arrest of 29 individuals in connection with criminal offenses in several provinces of the country.
Abdul Matin Qane, the spokesman of the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, stated on Sunday, November 12th , on the social media network, X, that these 29 individuals were apprehended by the police of their group in the provinces of Sar-e-Pul, Farah, Herat, Faryab, Ghazni, and Helmand.
According to Mr. Qane, these individuals were arrested within the past 24 hours for crimes including theft, harassment and intimidation of people, alcohol consumption, assault, and the illegal possession of firearms. Based on the information received, among the 29 individuals, nine were arrested for assault, alcohol consumption, and harassment and intimidation in Sar-e-Pul province, three for theft in Farah province, one for the possession of an illegal weapon in Faryab province, two thieves in Herat province, and one for vehicle theft in Ghazni province.
This comes after the Taliban group had previously reported the arrest of individuals involved in criminal activities throughout the country. In the latest case, authorities in Samangan have stated that in the past eight months, 730 individuals have been arrested and transferred to prisons in this province in connection with criminal offenses.
It is worth mentioning that despite the Taliban’s claim during their two-year rule in Afghanistan that the security of the people has been ensured throughout the country, reports of targeted killings, armed robberies, drug trafficking, and other crimes continue to reach the media on a daily basis.
