RASC News Agency: Turkey announced its commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the victims of the Herat earthquake on November 7th. The Turkish Disaster and Emergencies Administration stated that a train carrying 508 tons of aid materials, including food, tents, blankets, sanitary materials, winter clothes, generators, heaters, and kitchen appliances, has been sent to Herat.
The train is expected to reach its destination after a 15-day journey covering a distance of 4,420 km. The aid materials were collected by the Red Crescent Society of Turkey and 26 other charities and aid organizations.
Prior to this, Turkey had already dispatched a plane from the Ministry of Defense, along with search and rescue personnel and additional humanitarian aid, to assist the victims of the tragic earthquake.
It is worth noting that Turkey is not the only country assisting Herat. Several other nations around the world have also pledged their support in the form of supplies and monetary aid for the earthquake victims. However, sources from Herat province have reported that a significant portion of the humanitarian aid, approximately 70%, has been seized by the Taliban group.
The need for humanitarian aid in Afghanistan has significantly increased due to recent events and ongoing crises in the country. The Afghanistani people are facing numerous challenges, and the earthquake in Herat has only added to their plight.
It is crucial for the international community to continue supporting and assisting the victims, ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it the most.
