RASC News Agency: Quoting sources within the Taliban ranks in the northern provinces, it has been reported that despite their long history of service to the group, non-Pashton individuals are being sidelined from their responsibilities, with Taliban members from Kandahar and Helmand being appointed in their place.
Khair Muhammad, a pseudonym of one of the Taliban members who is of Uzbek descent, stated in an interview with the RASC news agency on Tuesday November 7th, that despite working with the Taliban for ten years and serving the group, he is now being monitored due to his Uzbek background, without any supporting documents or evidence.
According to Khair Muhammad, the Taliban, regardless of the service records of individuals to the group, have been engaging in the rotation of Kandahari and Helmandi Taliban members to take over positions in the administrations of the northern provinces. People of Tajik, Uzbek, Hazara, or any other ethnic background are being sidelined from their duties using various pretexts.
It should be noted that this is not an unprecedented action by the Taliban in the country. A while ago, the group had dismissed professional individuals from government positions in several provinces, replacing them with inexperienced non-professionals incapable of working in their respective sectors.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that since the Taliban’s takeover, they have repeatedly removed non-Pashton individuals from key government positions, currently managing the country’s affairs primarily through a military system dominated by Pashtons.
Meanwhile, based on information received, the Taliban’s behavior towards non-Pashton individuals in their government institutions is characterized by double standards, as they fail to give due attention to matters concerning non-Pashton ethnic groups.
