RASC News Agency: Local sources from Nuristan province have reported the targeted shooting of a former government soldier by Taliban intelligence forces in the province.
Sources revealed on Sunday, October 29th, that Taliban intelligence forces ambushed and fatally shot this former military personnel in the “Bajgal Dara” area, located in the outskirts of “Du Ab” district in Nuristan province.
The sources identified the deceased former soldier as Mohibullah and mentioned that he had no affiliations with any political group after the Taliban’s takeover of the country.
Meanwhile, the Taliban claimed that this former soldier was among members of the National Resistance Front forces, and as a result, he was killed in an ambush by the group’s members.
However, it is important to note that prior to this incident, the Taliban have been involved in numerous actions, including detaining, torturing, and in some cases, killing former government soldiers and individuals accused of being affiliated with the National Resistance Front, since their takeover of the country.
Recently, a few days ago, Taliban members also shot two former government soldiers in Laghman province, accusing them of collaborating with opposing factions.
It is worth mentioning that international organizations and human rights bodies have previously asserted that during the two years of the Taliban control over Afghanistan, the Taliban extensively violated human rights, especially concerning the rights of women, girls, and former government soldiers. However, the Taliban have consistently denied these allegations.
