RASC News Agency: In light of the increasing expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, Malala Yousafzai, a human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has urged the Pakistani government not to expel Afghanistani refugees who are in need of protection and security.
On October 27th , Ms. Yousafzai took to social media and wrote, “Afghanistani refugees, including children, women, men, and the elderly who are fleeing from the persecution and harassment of the Taliban, deserve support, dignity, and security, not further challenges and harassment.”
She further stated, “I reiterate the request of UN experts and ask the Pakistani government to reconsider its hasty policy of mass deportation.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government had given Afghanistani refugees until November 1st of this year to leave the country and has stated that if they do not leave voluntarily, they will be forcibly expelled.
It is worth mentioning that after the Pakistani government began expelling Afghanistani refugees, a significant number of Afghanistani migrants returned to their own country.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the Pakistani government claims that Afghanistani refugees are involved in several suicide attacks in Pakistan.
It should be mentioned that following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, the rate of migration of its citizens to neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, has intensified.
Experts have identified the prevailing conditions in the country, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of personal security, as the primary reasons for people fleeing the country.
