RASC News Agency: Despite the daily reports of Pakistan’s economic crisis, Pakistani media has recently reported the theft of a whopping nine million PKR from a private bank in the country.
According to Geo News Pakistan, the theft occurred on Thursday, October 26, in the Shadan city of Karachi.
The report states that six armed thieves, riding motorcycles, looted a sum of 8.7 million Pakistani rupees from the bank.
The Pakistan Police have confirmed the occurrence of this incident and stated that the thieves threatened bank employees with guns, putting their lives at risk.
This incident takes place as Pakistan’s economic situation has been worsening over the past year, with citizens of the country constantly expressing their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
It is noteworthy that the International Monetary Fund has forecasted a meager growth of only 0.5% for Pakistan in the current fiscal year, which seems quite insignificant compared to the 6% growth projected for the years 2021 to 2022.
Furthermore, it should be mentioned that Pakistan is a neighboring country to Afghanistan, where a significant number of Afghanistani refugees reside.
It is important to note that the Pakistani government has recently demanded the expulsion of illegal Afghanistani refugees from the country.
