RASC News Agency: On October 22, local sources from Faryab province reported a tragic incident in the district of “Chelgazi,” where an unidentified group of armed men killed a young girl and injured her mother. The distressing event unfolded on October 20, when the assailants forcibly entered the residence of Zulaikha, a widowed woman residing in the “Chaharshanbe” area of the district. The 20-year-old daughter lost her life in the attack, while her mother sustained injuries. The motive behind this senseless act is still unknown, and the perpetrator managed to escape the area undetected.

It is imperative to emphasize that both the mother and daughter were originally from Tagab district, Badghis province, and had relocated to “Chelgazi” some time ago, as shared by the local residents. According to reliable sources, Zulaikha, the wife of Gul Khan, has been enduring a distressing situation as her husband has been missing for an extended period. Shockingly, Gul Khan’s brothers have baselessly accused Zulaikha of being responsible for his disappearance and escalated their hostility towards her and her daughter.

Reports indicate that Gul Khan’s brothers intended to forcefully relocate Zulaikha back to Badghis province, disregarding her strong reluctance. In the midst of this turmoil, the Taliban group has claimed to undertake an investigation into the matter.

Regrettably, criminal activities have witnessed a significant surge in various provinces recently. Perpetrators, in numerous instances, have managed to evade capture and vanish from the crime scenes. Experts attribute the rise in such incidents to the limited access the general populace has to conventional judicial institutions and the inadequate monitoring by responsible officials from concerned departments. This situation breeds an environment where criminals operate with impunity, causing anguish and concern among the affected communities.
