RASC News Agency: Amidst the grim situation faced by girls and women in Afghanistan under Taliban rule, a recent revelation by foreign media organizations has brought a glimmer of hope. The courageous Saideh Sadat, Afghanistan’s pioneering female mountaineer, has made history by successfully scaling Nepal’s Mount Yalung-Ri, a towering peak standing tall at 5,630 meters.
Reports unveil that Sadat, who has ventured into mountaineering across various peaks worldwide in recent years, accomplished this remarkable feat alongside two American climbers and two Nepali guides. Embarking on their expedition in early October 2023, the determined group reached the summit triumphantly at 9:27 am on October 18th.

Furthermore, these media outlets have conveyed that the three climbers, accompanied by their fellow adventurers, will be returning to the bustling city of Kathmandu within the following week.

However, amidst the joyous celebration of this extraordinary achievement, it is vital to acknowledge the grim reality faced by Afghanistani women and girls, mercilessly suppressed by the oppressive policies of the Taliban regime. These policies have cast a dark shadow over their lives, depriving them of access to education, employment opportunities, and basic freedoms, resulting in widespread condemnation from the international community.

Undoubtedly, Saideh Sadat’s awe-inspiring accomplishment serves as a testament to the resilience and unwavering spirit of courageous women, even in the face of adversity. It is hoped that her triumph will help shed light on the plight of Afghanistani women and inspire positive change for their empowerment and freedom.
