RASC News Agency: According to international news agencies, President Biden’s anticipated visit to Jordan, originally scheduled to occur after his trip to Israel, has been abruptly canceled. According to Jordan’s foreign minister, the arranged meeting with Arab leaders has been called off.

A senior US administration official has asserted that the decision to cancel the meetings in Jordan was reached through mutual agreement. Nevertheless, President Biden will proceed with his visit to Israel, where he is set to engage in crucial discussions on Wednesday.

The cancellation was officially confirmed by the White House just as the president was departing from Washington, D.C. for Israel. This announcement came less than 24 hours after the trip was initially announced. The original plan entailed President Biden traveling to Amman, Jordan, to hold meetings with King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, and President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority.

Shortly before the president’s departure, an explosion occurred at a hospital in Gaza, resulting in the loss of 500 civilian lives and injuries. While an Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson asserted that Israel was not responsible for the hospital strike, Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed that their systems indicated the rockets were fired by terrorists in Gaza. On the other hand, Hamas has placed blame on Israel for the attack.

In an official statement, a White House representative declared, After consulting with King Abdullah II of Jordan and taking into account the days of mourning announced by President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority, President Biden has decided to postpone his travel to Jordan and the planned meeting with these two leaders and President Sisi of Egypt. The president extends his deepest condolences for the innocent lives lost in the hospital explosion in Gaza and wishes a swift recovery to the injured. He anticipates future face-to-face consultations with these leaders and has agreed to maintain regular and direct engagement with each of them in the days to come
