In a powerful social media message, this esteemed international organization highlighted the alarming fact that 15 million individuals in Afghanistan, which is equivalent to one-third of the nation’s population, currently face daunting uncertainty regarding their next meal.
Today, October 16, coincides with World Food Day, a profound opportunity for reflection and action. On this momentous occasion, the World Food Program emphasized, “On this World Food Day, it is crucial to remind the global community of the harrowing reality faced by 15 million Afghanistani people, constituting a staggering one-third of the nation’s populace, in their struggle to secure their basic sustenance.”
In addition, this prominent aid organization drew attention to the catastrophic earthquake that ravaged Herat province, something that adds to the already existing humanitarian crisis.
