RASC News Agency: Taliban provincial officials in Farah confirmed that UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) in Afghanistan gave a contract to repair and run eight schools in multiple district in Farah.

The Directorate of Education of the Taliban group in Farah Province told the media on Monday October 2, that the schools renovated by this international organization are located in the cities of Bakwah, Balablok, Golestan, Pushtroud, Joyn and the center of this province.

According to this directorate, the school buildings that were repaired by UNICEF were 80% destroyed and in a bad condition.

The directorate added that in addition to repairing the buildings of these schools, UNICEF has also created a solar system and two drinking water wells for two schools in this province.

According to the Department of Education of the Taliban group in Farah province, the restoration work of these schools has been completed at the cost of 20 million of the country currency in six months.

It should be mentioned that the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has already announced many times about providing educational kits and providing education for students in Afghanistan.

This is in spite of the fact that, since the occupation of Afghanistan by the Taliban in 1996, schools have barred girls over the age of six from attending them, and girls are not allowed to attend university.

Taliban group during their 20 years war against the previous government destroyed the bridges, school, hospital and number infrastructural place, and these destroyed school buildings are the effect of this group war in the past 20 years war.
