RASC News Agency: Mawlawi Matiul Haq Khalis, the appointed head of the Taliban group in the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society, traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the meeting of members of the International Organization of National Red Crescent Societies.
The Afghanistan Red Crescent Society, under the administration of the Taliban, said in a statement on Monday, September 25, that the head of this institution went to Switzerland on a six-day trip.
According to this body, in the meeting of the members of the International Organization of National Red Crescent Societies, the problems and financial crisis of humanitarian aid at the international level and its solutions will be discussed and exchanged.
Based on the announcement, Matiul Haq Khalis will also meet with the representatives of the countries’ charitable organizations in Switzerland.
This trip is taking place while the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society announced the registration of more than 12,000 children with heart disease a few days ago and said that these patients are waiting for surgery and treatment.
According to this institution, in the last 14 months, it has referred more than 1,770 children with heart failure to various hospitals in Afghanistan for surgery and treatment.
There are no new statistics of children suffering from heart perforation in Afghanistan, but the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan reported 128,000 cases of this disease among children in 2019.
