RASC News Agency: In the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly, French Foreign Minister has called for the immediate cancellation of all restrictions imposed by the Taliban group on Afghanistsni women and girls, including the ban on their presence in schools and universities and work in humanitarian institutions.
Catherine Colonna stated that in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group, women and girls are oppressed because of their gender, and the regime of this group has placed violence and gender segregation at the heart of their political identity.
Ms. Colonna also pays attention to women’s rights, especially Afghanistani women, women who are abused and suppressed by the Taliban regime because of their gender.
Furthermore, this French official said that in the regime of the Taliban group, gender segregation and violence against women have been placed at the heart of their political identity in a tragic way.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France also published a statement about the position of this country regarding the restrictions of the Taliban group against Afghanistani women, which once again strongly condemns the systematic discrimination against women and girls by the Taliban group, focusing on the policy of segregation and harassment based on gender.
She added that France will remain in complete solidarity with Afghanistanis and by their side.
This is despite the fact that Richard Bennett, the special rapporteur for human rights of the United Nations, said in a report that the world has betrayed the rights of Afghanistani girls and women.
