RASC News Agency: A human rights organization called “Freedom Now” has said that the marginalized ethnic groups in Afghanistan are facing dangers and after the Taliban took over, violence against the residents of “Joi Now” area of ”Khas Uruzgan” district of Uruzgan province by Pashtuns have taken place.
“Freedom Now” organization has written this article in response to the murder of a father and son from the Hazara residents of “Joi Now” Khas Uruzgan district.
At least three sources told the media in separate messages that the father and son were first arrested and then killed after the fight on Wednesday (September 20) in Tangi Sabzchub area, which is a Pashtun-inhabited area.
One of the sources said that people, whose identity is still unknown, shot the father and cut the son’s neck after arresting these two people.
Human rights organization “Freedom Now” added that “Joi Now” region has witnessed continuous violence against Hazaras and destruction of their lands by “Pashtun residents” since the Taliban regained control.
This institution added: “Marginalized ethnic groups in Afghanistan are facing threats.”
According to the sources, during the past two years when the Taliban group has dominated Afghanistan, 17 residents of the Hazara region of Joi Now or Sheshpar have been killed.
The sources say that the theft, looting and destruction of the property of the residents of Joi Now area has reached its peak and they are subject to “forced migration”. In one case, armed people cut dozens of fruit tree trunks belonging to local residents in Joi Now area.
According to the sources, after the Taliban took over, 20 houses of the residents of Joi Now have been destroyed or set on fire. In addition, this year, three cars belonging to the residents of this area were set on fire.
Local sources consider the motive of these actions to be ethnic tension.
According to them, Pashtun people are killing, destroying and looting the property of the residents of “Joi Now” area.
