RASC News Agency: The United Nations Migration Agency says in a new report that women under the control of the Taliban group are struggling with financial and emotional problems, which have been worsened by the current economic crisis and poverty.
In this joint report, UNAMA, the Office of Women and the United Nations Migration Agency interviewed 592 women in 22 provinces of Afghanistan from April to June of this year. They say that the life of women under the rule of the Taliban group is like life in prison.
In this report, it is stated that there is a feeling of depression among 57% of women and 48% of women said that the behavior of men in the family has worsened.
Based on this joint report, 69% of women said that the feeling of anxiety, isolation and depression has increased for them in the last two years.
While this feeling was present among 57% of women, three months before the registration of this report; 50% of the women asked for the recognition of the Taliban group by the international community on the condition of improving the situation of women’s rights. While 46% emphasized that the Taliban group should not be recognized under any circumstances, and another 4% said that the Taliban group as the “government” of Afghanistan to be recognized.
Meanwhile, the effect of women on decision-making in families, which was 90% in January, has decreased to 16% in June.
In addition, 80% of women said that their income has decreased; while this figure was 75% before April.
48% of women said that the behavior of men in their families has worsened in June compared to July, 36% of women wanted the international community to pay attention to gender equality in Afghanistan, 18% wanted to pay attention to economic development, and another 18% wanted Humanitarian aid from the community has become global.
However, women are still sacrificing in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group.
This is while the United Nations says that after taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban group issued more than 50 orders to restrict women and girls in Afghanistan.
In addition to not being allowed to go to school and university, Afghanistani women and girls are also not allowed to attend recreational places in Afghanistan.
The Taliban recently closed the doors of women’s beauty salons to Afghanistani women.
