RASC News Agency: Mehra Fabi, an Afghanistani LGBT rights activist, ended her hunger strike on Monday, September 18 after eleven days.
This LGBT rights activist said that she has ended her hunger strike due to his deteriorating health. However, she will continue her sit-in and protest.
In a statement published by Mehra Fabi, it is stated that the Swedish police removed her sit-in tent “for security reasons” on September 16. Nevertheless, she continued her strike.
In her statement, it is stated that during this period, a large number of people from different gender groups supported her request and the media played an important role in bringing her voice to the ears of the United Nations, the Swedish government and human rights institutions.
She told the media that in the past days, Anfal Mehdi, representing the Left Party of Sweden, and Isabel Ansorum from the local authorities of Malmö, Sweden, visited her to hear her demands.
She added that these two Swedish politicians have said that they will convey the demands of the Afghanistani LGBT community to the Swedish government officials.
In addition to the recognition of gender apartheid in Afghanistan, the transfer of endangered LGBT people from Afghanistan to Sweden was one of the wishes of Mehra Fabi Barikzai.
Mehra started her hunger strike on Friday, September 8, along with Tamana Zaryab Paryani’s hunger strike in the city of Cologne, Germany.
Before this, Tamana Zaryab Paryani ended her hunger strike and announced that she will soon enter the second stage of her lawsuit.
