RASC News Agency: On Tuesday, November 14th, a media report stated that members of the Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Analysis and Monitoring Group of the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee held a meeting to discuss the threats of terrorism from Afghanistan. The parties discussed the operational potential of terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda and ISIS, in the territory of Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group. The meeting took place in Tashkent, as reported by Uzbek media.

Although this organization has repeatedly warned the region about the increased risk of terrorism from the territory of Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group, further details of the talks held at this meeting have not been made public yet. Several international officials had previously stated that the Taliban group has been unsuccessful in combating terrorist groups, including ISIS, which heightens security threats for countries in the region and the world.

These concerns are raised as several provinces in Afghanistan, under the control of the Taliban group, have recently experienced terrorist attacks, resulting in casualties. Despite the Taliban group’s claims that terrorist groups are not present in Afghanistan territory and that they have been suppressed, the responsibility for these recent terrorist attacks has been claimed by the ISIS group. The secretary of the Russian Security Council previously mentioned that Afghanistan remains a source of security threats for the region and the world, underscoring the ongoing security concerns arising from the territory controlled by the Taliban group.
