RASC News Agency: Bill Roggio, an expert on terrorism in Washington, says that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other extremist groups, with the support of the Afghanistani Taliban, have gained access to American military ammunition and weapons that were left in Afghanistan. This American military expert told the media that some of these weapons were transferred to Pakistan.
Roggio said: “It is believable that American weapons have reached Kashmir. A number of pro-Pakistani groups operate inside Afghanistan and support the war against Indian Kashmir. That’s why it’s not surprising.” According to the reports of the United States Department of Defense, from 2005 to 2021, this country had given military equipment worth 18.6 billion dollars to the former security forces of Afghanistan. It is estimated that military equipment worth 7.12 billion dollars, including planes, ammunition, military vehicles, weapons, communication devices, etc. remained in Afghanistan and fell into the hands of the Taliban group.
Meanwhile, Anwar Haq Kakar, the acting Prime Minister of Pakistan, has recently said that after the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, terrorist groups have become stronger due to the remaining equipment of American and NATO forces.
Kakar told reporters in Islamabad last week that after these weapons fell into the hands of terrorist groups, the ability of these groups to carry out operations has increased, and the weapons and equipment left by the US to Pakistan and other countries in the region are a “big threat”.
Previously, similar concerns were expressed by Central Asian countries, including Russia, about the weapons and equipment left in Afghanistan by the United States of America and NATO member countries.
