RASC News Agency: A number of women and girls members of the “Women to Freedom” movement called on the international community to recognize gender apartheid in Afghanistan in a protest movement.
The members of this movement held this protest program (Sunday, September 3) in Kabul city in a closed place and away from the eyes of the Taliban group.
In the video tapes sent to the media by the members of the “Women for Freedom” movement, they ask the international community to recognize the gender apartheid practiced by the Taliban group.
The members of this protest movement have also said that the Taliban group kills women and girls in a targeted and methodical/systematic manner and that the international community should put an end to the crimes of this group by exerting pressure.
They have expressed their protest with the slogans “Equality, freedom, not to terror and suicide”, “Taliban commits crimes, the world supports” and “Justice, justice, we are tired of crime”.
They added that the international community should not support the crimes of the Taliban group and should not recognize the regime of this group in Afghanistan.
This is while another number of female protesters in the city of Cologne, Germany, have started a 12-day hunger strike in protest against the Taliban group.
They also asked the international community to formalize gender apartheid in Afghanistan and said that the world should support the rights of deprived Afghanistani women and girls instead of cooperating and interacting with the Taliban group.
Previously, Richard Bennett, the United Nations special rapporteur for human rights in Afghanistan, asked the world to recognize “gender apartheid” in Afghanistan as a “global crime” and hold the Taliban accountable for imposing restrictions on women.
