RASC News Agency: Human Rights Watch, in response to the Taliban group’s blocking of the educational trip of Afghanistani female students to Dubai, called on the international community to put more pressure on the Taliban group.
In the message of this institution, which was published on Friday, August 25, on the “X” social media, it is stated that the Taliban group has prevented the study trip of at least 63 girls to Dubai.
The Human Rights Watch added that the international community should try to exert more pressure on the Taliban group to end the violation of women’s rights.
It should be mentioned that at least 100 female students were supposed to travel to Dubai on Wednesday, August 24, to continue their studies through the scholarships they received with the financial assistance of Khalaf bin Ahmed Al Habtoor, a businessman from the United Arab Emirates. They faced obstacles from the Taliban group and were not allowed to travel to Dubai.
This action of the Taliban group has faced strong domestic and foreign reactions.
Heather Barr, head of the Women’s Department of Human Rights Watch, said that this is an important and alarming step beyond the extraordinary level of cruelty that the Taliban group is currently doing by depriving girls and women of education.
At the same time, Nasir Ahmad Faiq, head of Afghanistan’s delegation to the United Nations, also said that the Taliban group wants to deprive girls of education because of keeping people in ignorance and darkness.
