RASC News Agency: Informed sources in Kabul city say that the Taliban group has arrested Shams al-Rahman Raheeq, one of the human rights activists, and his younger brother, about three months after arresting him.
Sources have told the media that his name is “Mohammad Mehraban Murshid” and that the Taliban group arrested him on Wednesday evening, August 23, in an area related to the third security area of Kabul city and transferred him to an unknown place.
According to the sources, Mohammad Mehraban Murshid is a third-year student at Kabul University, and the Taliban group arrested him for “unknown reasons”.
The Taliban group has not said anything about this so far.
It should be mentioned that the intelligence forces of the Taliban group arrested and imprisoned the brother of this person, whose name is Shams-ul-Rahman Raheeq, for the second time in Kabul.
Raheeq is one of the human rights activists and one of the main residents of “Dara” district of Panjshir province.
It is said that Raheeq was also a local employee of UNAMA; But this institution has not yet expressed an opinion on this matter.
According to reports, about a year ago, the Taliban group took Raheeq’s father, who was a member of the previous government’s army, out of his house in Panjshir province and shot him.
This is despite the fact that yesterday local sources in Panjshir province told the media that a resident of this province who wanted to go to Iran was arrested by the Taliban group at the “Islam Qala” border of Herat province and after spending 22 days in prison; he was tortured and finally died.
Sources said that this citizen’s name was “Fayaz-ul-Haq” and he was “suffocated” and died in Herat prison by members of the Taliban group on Tuesday (August 22).
The Taliban group is constantly accused of extra-legal killings; UNAMA has revealed widespread human rights violations by the Taliban group in its recent report.
