RASC News Agency: A number of women’s rights activists from Balkh province in the north of the country demanded an end to the arrest of protesting women by the Taliban group. They say that these women are raising their voices to plead for their own rights.
A number of women’s rights activists were arrested by the Taliban when they held a protest program in the Khairkhana area of Kabul city in a closed place.
Those who are members of the Afghanistani Women’s Unity and Solidarity Movement protested and sued against the inequalities, limitations and problems faced Afghanistani women.
Although they were released after a few hours of detention, women’s rights activists emphasized that women are protesting because of necessity and difficulties in life and should not be detained.
They say: “Taliban group should not arrest protesting women.”
The arrest of these protesters has caused media and social media reactions and protests, and now women’s rights activists strongly condemn this action of the Taliban group to RASC News Agency.
These women’s rights activists, who do not want to be named in the report due to security reasons, say that the Taliban group created serious restrictions after ruling the country.
Such restrictions on education, work, public places, social, civil, political and security activities are among the most basic things that the Taliban group created against Afghanistani women.
Firoza Akbar (pseudonym) is one of the women’s rights activists in Balkh province, who has been engaged in civil activities for several years, but she lost her job due to the rule of the Taliban and lives at home.
While condemning the arrest of protesting women by the Taliban group, she says that the Taliban should not arrest those who raise their voices because they want their rights.
Mrs. Akbar also severely criticized the Taliban’s restrictions against women, emphasizing that these decisions of the Taliban group have caused Afghanistani women to be deprived of their basic human rights.
Beheshta Daneshyar, who is one of the students of Balkh university, says that with the closure of the universities, women cannot continue their studies and this causes them to sue and protest.
According to these women, the Taliban hide their crime by arresting female protesters
They say that protesting women in Kabul have raised their voices against these Taliban restrictions, but this group, who want their crimes to be hidden, arrested these women.
These women’s rights activists ask the international community to stand up and condemn the inhumane decisions that cause problems for citizens, especially women.
Mahboba Ahmadi, another woman who has been denied the right to study and work due to the decisions of the Taliban group, says that the Taliban want to exclude Afghanistani women from society.
Stating that the Taliban have done this now and women are not present in any social, political, civil and security activities, she said, “The majority of Afghanistani women faced mental illnesses.”
She said to believe that if there is no resistance to the decisions of the Taliban, not only women but also the entire society and the future of Afghanistan will suffer from their decisions and rulings.
In addition to Firoza and Mahboba, there are many other Afghanistani women who have been severely affected by the Taliban’s restrictions and problems for women, and they want to fight against these actions.
After the rule of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, Afghanistani women have started protests, gatherings and demonstrations in most of the provinces of the country and demanded the realization of their rights and human rights.
Although these protests have been suppressed many times by the Taliban military group and a large number of protesters have been arrested and tortured in these provinces, but the women continued to protest.
Women’s rights activists believe that if they do not stand up against the Taliban’s decisions and women do not hold meetings, demonstrations and gatherings, the Taliban will become even more terrifying.
They have asked the world community, international organizations and different sections of the society to fight against the decisions of the Taliban and not let the voice of Afghanistani women be silenced by detention and torture.
It should be mentioned that more than two years have passed since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, and during this time, this group deprived women of all social activities and made them stay at home.
