RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Faryab province, a local official of the Taliban group in this province has forcibly married a young girl to one of his relatives.
Sources have said that this 13-year-old girl was forced to marry his “brother in law” by the governor of the Taliban group in Dawlat Abad Faryab under the threat of weapons in Topkhana Qala village.
According to the sources, when the residents of this village protested against this action of the governor of the Taliban group, the forces of this group threatened them with death.
The girl’s mother said that she wants the authorities of the Taliban group to prevent such arbitrary and coercive actions by their forces.
The Taliban group in Faryab has not commented on this yet, but a local official of the Taliban group, who did not want to be identified, said: “I am aware of this incident.”
This is despite the fact that not long ago, the governor of the Taliban group in Laghman province married a minor girl in exchange for some money.
It should be mentioned that the Taliban group has been repressive and violent towards women since they took over the country and they are trying to remove them from society and social life.
During their previous rule in the 90s, this group had a very unbalanced behavior with Afghanistani women and girls.
Women were forced to wear a (Hijab) in public at all times, in a systematic segregation that is sometimes referred to as gender apartheid, women were not allowed to work, they were not allowed to study after the age of eight, and until then they were only allowed to study the Quraan.
They faced whipping and public execution for violating the rules of the Taliban group.
