RASC: Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan said that the economic crisis and hunger in Afghanistan endanger the security of the region.

According to him, the economic challenges in Afghanistan have created the ground for the growth of terrorism and extremism and threatened the security of the region.

According to Kazinform news agency, Qanat Tomish emphasized that Afghanistan’s instability must be prevented.

This Kazakh official said in a press conference that Afghanistan is currently in an economic crisis and two-thirds of its population needs humanitarian aid.

He also said that more than 24 million people are struggling with hunger in this country.

Afghanistan is among the countries that buy nearly 70% of the country’s exported wheat.

According to reports, the trade exchange between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan reaches nearly 990 million US dollars, and the Kazakh authorities are trying to increase this figure.

This Kazakhstani official added that this challenging situation has provided a favorable ground for the growth of terrorism and extremism, and as a result, the entire Central Asia and the region have been threatened.

Meanwhile, according to the Memar news agency report; According to Tass news agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported that an economic meeting will be held between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, in which 150 entrepreneurs from various economic sectors, including second-tier banks of Afghanistan, will participate.

However, on behalf of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Ministry of Trade, banks, logistics and transportation companies of that country had negotiations with the participating Afghanistani.

According to the ministry, this meeting will continue from August 3 to 5 this year.

This joint meeting is scheduled to be held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
