RASC: Continuing the challenging situation of Afghanistani women and girls under the control of the Taliban group, Heather Barr, head of the women’s division of the United Nations Human Rights Watch, said that the interaction with this group about the rights of Afghanistani women and girls has been fruitless.
Mrs. Barr made these statements today, Saturday, July 29, in a tweet in response to the statements of a Taliban official regarding the education of women and girls who are deprived of their most basic rights.
The head of the Women’s Department of Human Rights Watch expressed this reaction in relation to the words of Mohammad Younus Rashid, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of the Taliban group, who said that until women do not look at themselves like women, they will never be allowed to be educated.
The deputy of the Taliban group added: “Women must go back to their frame, otherwise they will not be given the rights that even we need.”
This official of the Taliban group, who spoke at a meeting in Kabul on Wednesday, July 26, did not provide more details about this, but said: “Whenever women consider themselves women, then the Taliban group in the four departments of medicine, religious science, security and teachers will allow them to be educated.”
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hashim Shahid Woror, the general head of Da’wah and guidance of the Taliban group, also stated in this meeting that medical and engineering training is not obligatory.
After the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, in addition to national and international reactions, this group has intensified their strict laws against women.
