RASC: The Executive Director of the United Nations Women’s Department, Sima Bahous, has said in response to the Taliban’s latest restrictions on Afghanistani women that this order is another serious harm to women’s rights and an attempt to exclude them from public life.
On Friday, July 7, Ms. Bahous expressed her reaction in a tweet regarding the banning of women’s hair salons in Afghanistan.
She wrote: “The future of Afghanistan must include Afghanistani women.”
Before this, the United Nations Women’s Department called this order of the Taliban group “the latest suppression of women’s rights, entrepreneurship and job opportunities”.
Meanwhile, the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in response to this restriction of the Taliban group also asked this group to withdraw this order.
It should be noted that this order has resulted in the unemployment of 60,000 women across the country and causes them to lose their jobs and source of income.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Amr Bil Maruf of the Taliban group, according to a verbal order attributed to Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, the leader of this group, warned all the barbershops across the country to stop their activities until July 25.
It should be mentioned that this is one of the latest restrictions that this group has imposed on Afghanistani women since the domination of the country by this group. In Afghanistan, under the control of this group, women have been deprived of the basic rights of dignity in addition to other rights.
