RASC: According to the quarterly report of the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), which said about the situation in Afghanistan, the Taliban group has continued to suppress the forces of the previous government and their opponents despite the announcement of amnesty.
According to the United Nations report, which was published today, Thursday, July 6, and examined the situation in Afghanistan from February 1 to May 20. Although the armed attacks by the forces opposing the Taliban have decreased compared to the same time in 2022, but this group has continued to suppress its opposition forces, including the National Resistance Forces, the Freedom Front, and the Afghanistan Liberation Movement.
It is mentioned in this report: “The forces of the Taliban group have carried out this operation under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense against their opponents, including the April 11 operation against the forces of the Freedom Front in Salang district of Parwan province, in which eight people were killed.”
On the other hand, based on this report, the three military fronts of the Taliban group have accepted the responsibility for most of the attacks in eight provinces of the country.
The report mentioned the increase in arrests of people by the Taliban and the decrease in terror incidents during this period.
It is also mentioned in the UN report that the security incidents during this period have slightly decreased compared to the same time last year.
According to the report, the United Nations recorded 1,650 security incidents in Afghanistan in this quarter, while this figure was 1,668 incidents last year.
This report also says that the occurrence of suicide attacks in Afghanistan under the administration of the Taliban group has increased from zero to three.
The UN report also mentioned ISIS attacks in Afghanistan and said that the activity of this group has been compressed from 12 provinces to five provinces in the country.
According to this report, during this period, 11 attacks were carried out by the Khorasan branch of ISIS against Taliban officials and public places.
In this report, the United Nations paid attention to the situation of human rights, especially the rights of women in Afghanistan, and said that the Taliban group continued to impose restrictions on women.
This is despite the fact that the United Nations Security Council Sanctions Monitoring Committee reported in a report last month that the Taliban group has close ties with several terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and said that this group is behind the activities of these groups in Afghanistan. They have made it convenient.
