RASC: A number of residents of the province say that the government hospitals of Takhar province do not provide medicine to patients and their doctors do not treat their patients properly.

Khadija, a resident of Takhar, brought her one-year-old child to Takhar provincial hospital for treatment. She says that she has visited this hospital four times, but the doctors could not diagnose her child’s illness.

This resident of Takhar province says: “He has been under treatment since he was born until he turned one year old. This is the fourth time I have brought him here; but his illness has not been revealed.”

Takhar State Hospital is witnessing a large number of patients living in Taleqan, its center and its districts.

Some residents of Takhar say that there are no proper health services in this hospital and the doctors do not treat the patients properly and the patients are charged a fee.

Fazal Ahmad, a resident of Takhar, says: “We also want the attention of doctors, because our people are in great need.”

Mohammad Noor Ahmadi, a resident of Takhar, says: “There is not much attention. We take medicine from outside. “There is not enough medicine in the hospital.”

Some women claim that their children’s illnesses are not diagnosed correctly in the Takhar government hospital, and people are forced to transfer their sick children to Kabul for treatment.

Kobra, the patient, says: “She has been sick for two years. She was hospitalized here for a week and in Mazar-e-Sharif for 15 days.”

Nevertheless, the officials in Takhar provincial hospital say that the health services have improved in this hospital compared to the past.

This is while the number of patients in Takhar province has increased with the warming of the weather.
