Local sources in Faryab say that unknown armed men in the city of Maimana, the center of this province, killed a former soldier.
These sources say that this incident took place this morning on Sunday, June 4, in the fourth security area of Meimana city. This former soldier’s name was Jamaluddin and he was the main resident of “Takoli” village, Pashtunkot city, Faryab province.
Jamaluddin was in charge of a security checkpoint on the Maimana-Almar route during the republican regime. However, he had gone to Iran after the collapse of the republican regime and had just returned from that country.
Hamidullah Bootshekan, the spokesperson of the Taliban security command in Faryab confirmed this incident and said that in connection with the murder of this former soldier, three people were arrested with a rifle and a “Knife”.
He did not comment on the reason for the murder of this former soldier.
Meanwhile, two people were killed in two separate incidents in Faryab province yesterday, and at least three murders were reported from Nangarhar, one from Zabul, and another from Kapisa.
Although the Taliban group had promised a general amnesty, mysterious murders have increased throughout the country in recent days. Many believe that the main perpetrators of these murders are members of the Taliban group.
