UNICEF: We Stay in Afghanistan and Adapt to the Conditions of the Taliban

RASC: The United Nations Children’s Fund says it will continue to work and provide aid to children and women in Afghanistan despite restrictions imposed by the Taliban.

In a press conference in New York, Fran Ekiza, the head of UNICEF in Afghanistan, said: “The female employees of this institution will continue to work from home and office.”

He added that other UN institutions in Afghanistan will work in the same way. Ekiza said: “Afghanistan women do not give up under any circumstances.”

The head of UNICEF admitted that the organization’s female employees face “threats and dangers” and the UN does not want its decisions to endanger its employees.

It should be noted that since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, work and education restrictions have been imposed on Afghanistani girls and women, and they are dealing with an uncertain future.
