RASC: A number of female activists under the name “Purple Saturdays Movement” have accused the United Nations Children’s Fund or (UNICEF) of supporting the misogynist policies of the Taliban group.

On Wednesday, May 17, this movement said in response to UNICEF’s announcement about the expansion of girls’ education by holding short and irregular training courses throughout Afghanistan: “This effort is actually supporting the ban on girls going to high school, which is enforced by the Taliban group.”

By publishing a statement, these female activists said that UNICEF is helping to promote the process of irregular education for girls by holding intensive and irregular training courses for girls.

The declaration added, UNICEF should support girls’ right to education in Afghanistan and put necessary pressure on the Taliban group to reopen girls’ high schools.

However, in the announcement, it is emphasized, “UNICEF aims to promote primitive and irregular education by activating informal high schools and holding intensive training courses, which has a negative impact on the half-life body of Afghan education.”

Meanwhile, UNICEF has recently announced the expansion of literacy classes throughout Afghanistan.
