Taliban Base Targeted in Coordinated Attack in Panjshir’s Dara District

RASC News Agency: Local sources in Dara district, Panjshir province, report a coordinated assault involving heavy weaponry on a Taliban military outpost early this morning. According to the reports, the attack occurred at approximately 7:00 AM on Monday, April 7, in the strategically vital Pojawa region. A credible source, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that at least seven rounds of heavy artillery were fired toward the Taliban compound. The projectiles, the source noted, were launched from the surrounding mountainous terrain; however, the exact type of weaponry used has not yet been confirmed.

As of now, no official information has been released regarding casualties or the extent of material damage, though the source emphasized that investigations are currently ongoing. Pojawa, a rugged and tactically significant valley in the Dara district, has previously served as a hotspot for intense clashes between Taliban forces and the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan. Two years ago, the area was the epicenter of a series of fierce confrontations between the opposing sides.

This latest attack comes amid a persistently volatile security climate in Panjshir, where armed skirmishes between resistance forces and the Taliban remain ongoing. The Taliban has yet to issue an official statement in response to the incident. Given its mountainous geography and strategic positioning, Pojawa is considered one of the most sensitive areas within the Panjshir Valley. Its complex terrain has repeatedly made it a focal point for armed conflict among rival factions.
