U.S. Strips 20,000 Special Afghanistani Immigration Visas from Budget Proposal

RASC News Agency: The nonprofit organization No One Left Behind has revealed that the U.S. House Rules Committee has removed two critical provisions from the Continuing Resolution (CR): the allocation of 20,000 Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) for Afghanistani nationals and a two-year extension of the program. According to the organization, this decision comes despite the fact that SIV recipients have already undergone extensive vetting to confirm their invaluable service and unwavering commitment to U.S. national interests.

The organization has condemned this move as a significant setback for advocates of Afghanistani refugees but emphasized that human rights organizations remain resolute in their efforts. In an official statement, No One Left Behind asserted: “We remain steadfast in our collaboration with bipartisan partners to secure these visas for our Afghanistani allies. Our mission to relocate SIV holders to safety is ongoing and remains as critical as ever.”

This decision comes at a time when thousands of Afghanistani citizens who once worked alongside U.S. forces remain trapped in uncertainty, facing dire security threats. Notably, following the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan, its financial and political backing of the Taliban, and the fall of Kabul, the U.S. government abandoned thousands of Afghanistani allies, leaving them in a precarious and perilous state.

Donald Trump, during his presidency, demonstrated to the world that America is an unreliable partner one that can, at any moment, forsake its allies, leaving them stranded in uncertainty before turning its back and walking away.
