Taliban Execute Parwan Resident on Charges of Possessing a Firearm

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Parwan province report that a young man was executed by the Taliban on charges of possessing a firearm. According to sources, the Taliban carried out the execution on Monday, February 24, on Khalqa Khwaja Road, located within Bagram district. The individual, identified as Hamid Agha, the son of Mohammad Saheel, had been arrested by the Taliban a week earlier on accusations of possessing a firearm. The sources confirmed that the Taliban returned Hamid Agha to his home the previous day and, after conducting a search of his residence, executed him in a roadside execution.

Sources have clarified that Hamid Agha had no affiliations with any political or military opposition groups. It is also noteworthy that in 2024, the Taliban had previously executed another young man named Sabaoon in Bagram district. He was reportedly murdered by the Taliban’s local authorities, including the district mayor. Since the Taliban regained power, they have faced consistent allegations of committing widespread oppression and discrimination against the Tajik ethnic community, particularly in the Tajik-majority provinces.

Both domestic and international reports indicate that the Taliban have detained, tortured, executed, and imprisoned Tajik individuals under various accusations, including collaborating with the National Resistance Front, the Freedom Front, being former members of the Afghanistan’s security forces, having connections to ISIS, or other alleged offenses. Although the Taliban entered Afghanistan under the guise of Islamic law and Sharia, with support from regional intelligence agencies and the United States, their actions over the past two and a half years have demonstrated an increasing trend of ethnic bias, sectarianism, and discrimination.
