RASC News Agency: Nasir Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s acting representative at the United Nations, has once again delivered a scathing critique of the Taliban, asserting that the group has never acted in the interest of the Afghanistani people and has made no meaningful effort to implement positive reforms or support the nation’s citizens. In his latest remarks, Faiq declared that the Taliban’s terrorist regime has been an abject failure in every sphere over the past three years. He underscored that instead of governing responsibly, Taliban leaders remain consumed by personal enrichment and multiple marriages, neglecting the pressing needs of the people.
On Monday, February 10, Faiq wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account,
“It is now undeniable to both the Afghanistani people and the international community that the Taliban’s terrorist leadership and policies have utterly failed in establishing governance based on merit, justice, the rule of law, and the will of the people. Their repressive stance toward Afghanistani women and girls, coupled with their disregard for national interests, confirms that they have no intention of fostering lasting peace, stability, or prosperity in Afghanistan.” Faiq further revealed that internal rifts within the Taliban have deepened, with factional power struggles intensifying as the group prioritizes its own survival over the well-being of the nation. Recent reports have indicated a surge in internal disputes, with some conflicts now becoming publicly visible.
Condemning the Taliban’s manipulation of Islam and Sharia law, Faiq emphasized that the group’s governance is driven by power consolidation rather than genuine religious principles, stating that many of their actions blatantly contradict fundamental Islamic values. He accused the Taliban of brutally suppressing civilians while recklessly depleting Afghanistan’s national wealth, stating,
“By wielding violence, subjugating the people, and plundering the nation’s resources under various pretexts, the Taliban seek only to prolong their illegitimate rule.”
