RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) reported in a recent statement that its forces conducted an assault on a convoy belonging to the Taliban’s elite unit in Kabul’s fifth district, resulting in the deaths of five Taliban fighters and the wounding of four others. The statement indicates that the attack occurred around 6:20 PM today Thursday, November 7, in the “Kote Sangi” area, near the “Ariana Kabul Hotel.”
Earlier, local sources in Kabul had reported an explosion in this area. Eyewitnesses described hearing a blast around 6:00 PM near Kote Sangi, close to the Ariana Kabul Hotel, causing people to scatter in all directions. The precise nature and casualties of the explosion were not immediately clear. The NRF asserted responsibility for the operation, stating that its forces targeted a convoy of vehicles from the Taliban’s provincial special forces unit. The attack reportedly resulted in the destruction of two military vehicles and the seizure of five firearms by NRF fighters.
The Resistance Front clarified that no harm came to its forces or civilians during the operation. As of now, Taliban security officials in Kabul have not issued any statement regarding the incident. The National Resistance Front has previously claimed responsibility for several attacks against Taliban forces in Kabul. Just last night, the NRF reported that its fighters had killed one Taliban member and injured two others in an assault in the seventeenth district of Kabul.
